A large part of the audio-visual records, which can be summarized as analog recordings in different formats and 16mm, 8mm primarily on the pellicle, consists of the recordings for the productions of Enis Rıza. In addition to these records, records compiled from different archives are protected like any other. These records in question – voiced or silent – involve the period from 1910s until today. They all will be brought into use for researchers and individuals in the best way possible.
Current archive covers the audiovisual archive recorded during the period from 1970s until today. There are several topics such as social and political events, social life, society, culture, arts, economy. This short sample, which you can see limited examples now, will diversify with other titles as the digitization work progresses.
Before the digital scanning process, the re-recording (reproduction) of the materials was made with a video camera or camera in order to appear in documentary films. Thus, some materials take part in collection as analog video environment or photography/dia. It is possible to reach the motionless materials (newspaper, magazines, books, photographs, slide etc.) by way of archives or other collections. Nevertheless, our collection has been protecting, in accepting as resources work, the archives compiled regarding their productions and ArchiveIST cares about making the productions accessible in the context of thematic content.
Especially 70s, 80s and 90s moving archives and the motionless materials belonging to other periods’ advertising archive contain data about Turkey’s social history.
Scientists, researchers, oral history works with eyewitnesses and extensive conversations. Women and children rights, human rights, environment, ecology and urban right, immigration, recent political and social history are prior topics. All original records of the productions have been protected and independent oral history works together with transcriptions are identified and protected. The exact number of audiovisual records realized by hundreds of people will become clearer after inventory work is done together with other records.
